Gearbox Records is proud to make available the 15 rare and never-heard-before recordings of some of the most legendary jazz musicians of all time. With the generous help of The National Lottery Heritage Fund and the remarkable tapes recorded by Les Tomkins on his Ferrograph tape recorder in London jazz clubs during the 1960's, these recordings have been painstakingly restored and cut to vinyl using true-to-the-time techniques and all-analogue valve equipment.

20 vinyl copies of the 15 recordings will be made and handed to various archives and educational establishments, and the music digitally mastered and archived here, so as to make the magic of 60's British jazz available to everyone and to educate and inspire a younger generation of jazz enthusiasts.
